Occupational safety and health protection for diving work

Diving medicine for professional diving companies

Occupational safety and health protection are regulated by law in Switzerland. Diving works represent work with a special risk which requires an increased duty of care. The regulations of the EKAS (Swiss Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety) require that diving companies draw up an occupational health and safety concept and record it in writing, which requires the involvement of ASA (Occupational Health and Safety Specialists). This requires an analysis of the company-specific hazards, risk analysis and definition of procedures with acceptable residual risk. In addition, an emergency response plan, hazard monitoring and employee involvement must be established.
